‘SolarPost’ post lights provide low-level, directionally focused lighting and delineation, increasing safety and security along pathways and sidewalks as well as public spaces such as plazas, playgrounds and parks.
Their low height minimizes visual clutter compared with taller pole mounted lighting while their low glare, downward focused light enhances the nighttime ambiance in public spaces.
The SolarPost control system uses an algorithm to maximize the power generated from each solar panel. The optimum power point of the panels is calculated in real time to capture energy efficiently and harvest the maximum power from each panel.
Battery management technology mitigates full discharge by reducing the LED brightness until there is sufficient ambient light to charge.
The SolarPost control system monitors ambient light levels. During the night, a high efficiency 180 lumens-per-watt white LED illuminates. The brightness of the LED is set at a reduced light level until activated by infrared sensors. On approach the LED brightens for 10 seconds, gently dimming to the lower level.
The combination of proximity sensors and the design of the light fittings ensures light is directed only where needed with variable output depending on the pedestrian traffic.
Trenching for electrical wires along a pathway can quickly become expensive. And costs can escalate rapidly if other challenges arise like rocky terrain or the need to navigate around gas, water, phone or electrical services.
Any trenching means disruption of the site, access restriction and the cost of subsequent ground remediation, vegetation replacement and landscaping works. With Solarpost post lights, only individual footings need to be installed, or simply bolt to an existing concrete slab.
With less work in site preparation, electrical connections and site remediation, SolarPost post lights can be installed in just a fraction of the time compared with mains powered bollards.
SolarPost lights can be either surface mounted on a concrete slab or attached to a buried precast base. Unlike steel poles or poles with steel bases, SolarPost post lights will not rust or corrode over time.
SolarPost enclosures are rated as IP66 according to international standard EN 60529 - "dust tight" and protected against heavy seas or powerful jets of water.
Photovoltaic cells are sealed behind UV stabilized tempered glass and being at the sides on the poles rather than at the top, are less exposed to potential damage..
With an area of 158 sq. in., the SolarPost panels generate more than twice the power of competitive commercial grade, solar powered LED bollards.
Batteries can last up to 10 years and can be disabled when not in use.
SolarPost post lights are guaranteed to work from dusk until dawn and can provide light for up to 14 days without daylight with high performance white LED 180 lighting.
