'SolarStreet' Solar Street Lighting

SolarStreet solar LED light poles offer an affordable lighting solution for pathways, roadways and public spaces, especially in more remote locations where access to mains power may not be economically viable. Being lower than a normal street light, these poles are ideal for providing a more precisely focused light on roadways, footpaths, walkways, parking lots, housing developments, commercial premises and other large public spaces.

Available in three heights - 6’6”, 9’10”, 13’1” - the poles can be equipped with an infrared sensor which temporarily raises the brightness on approach, reverting to a lower light level after 10 sec.

SolarStreet PV solar cells are located on the sides of the posts, providing an exceptional power generating capacity without the need for visually intrusive, flat panel solar arrays.

Maximizing power generation

The SolarStreet control system uses an algorithm to maximize the power generated from each solar panel. The optimum power point of the panels is calculated in real time to capture energy efficiently and harvest the maximum power from each panel.

Battery management

Battery management technology mitigates full discharge by reducing the LED brightness until there is sufficient ambient light to charge.

Sensors trigger LED to brighten on approach

The SolarStreet control system monitors ambient light levels. During the night, a high efficiency 180 lumens-per-watt white LED illuminates. The brightness of the LED is set at a lower light level until activated by infrared sensors. On approach the LED brightens for 10 seconds, gently dimming back to the low level.

Dust proof, watertight enclosures

Solarstreet enclosures are rated as IP66 according to international standard EN 60529 - 'dust tight' and protected against heavy seas or powerful jets of water.

Vandal resistant solar cells

Photovoltaic cells are sealed behind UV stabilized tempered glass and being at the sides on the poles rather than at the top, are less exposed to potential damage.
